Panic - Immediate Relief - Natural Technique to Stop Panic

To begin I would like you to think of a feeling that you would like to remove. Perhaps you are anxious about something, perhaps you are upset about something, or perhaps you are panicking about something. Whatever it is, choose a feeling that you are comfortable you will be able to cope with emotionally. In other words don't go dragging up a feeling that is going to overwhelm you or is potentially too painful for you to bear. Now, once you've got a feeling to work on, I want you to turn your attention to this feeling. What sort of feeling is it? Guilt, shame, hurt, panic, upset...? In other words, what emotion do you think would best describe this feeling? Where do you feel the feeling most intensely? How would you rate the intensity of this feeling from 1 to 10, 10 being the worst feeling you have ever felt in your life? Write your rating down in a diary or anxiety journal.

This negative emotional feeling is, in fact, nervous energy that has become stuck somewhere in your nervous system. I am not refering to karma, spiritual energy, or anything that lacks a physical presence. What I am refering to is, in fact, physical energy; feelings are generated by waves of physical energy running through your nervous system. A wave can become stuck, somewhere in your nervous system. Sometimes you may feel such a feeling throughout your entire body, but most of the time you will feel it at a certain point somewhere in your body. This is the spot where the energy has become stuck.

First, what we are going to do is send your brain a signal so it knows where abouts the blockage is. Firstly, I want you to find and place the first and second finger of either hand on the "karate chop point" of your other hand. It doesn't matter which hand you choose to do this exercise, either hand will do. The karate chop point is the part of your hand that you would use to strike with if you were going to karate chop something. It doesn't have to be the exact spot, the surrounding tissue is connected to the nerve ending as well, and tapping the connected tissue will produce the affect we want. I want you to put your first and second fingers, of your other hand, on the karate chop point. Now, at the same time turn your attention to the negative feeling that you would like to remove. Where abouts in your body is this feeling? What does it feel like? Start to tap the karate chop point with the first two fingers of your other hand. This will focus your nervous system on the blockage. At the same time I want you to say, out loud, to yourself 'even though I feel "this feeling" I deeply and completely accept myself'. Replace "this feeling" with the feeling you would like to remove; for example: "even though I feel fear when I talk to someone I deeply and completely accept myself." You must convince yourself of the truth of this statement, so say it with sincerity. We are teaching your mind and body to appreciate the negativity of the blocked energy. We will achieve this by showing your nervous system the contrast between the blocked energy and positive energy.

Now, I would like you to do this exercise over again: remember to concentrate on the feeling you would like to remove, and where abouts in your body this feeling is; keep tapping the karate chop point, and say with sincerity: 'even though I feel "this feeling" I deeply and completely accept myself.' Replace "this feeling" with the feeling to be removed.

Now that we have shown your brain where the blockage is we will proceed to flush the blocked energy out of your nervous system. To do this we will tap the ends of various nerve channels to send a wave along them, while concentrating on the feeling we want to remove. The aim is to stimulate the flow of energy and flush the blocked energy out of your nervous system. You don't have to tap right on the nerve ending, tapping the surrounding tissue will produce the desired affect.

1. The first point to tap is right at the juncture of either eye brow and the bridge of your nose. Use your first and second finger to tap this point seven times; and say the words "this feeling"(refering to the feeling you would like to remove); keep your mind tuned to the feeling;

2. The second point to tap is the outside corner of either eye on the opposite side to your nose. Tap here seven times, again it doesn't have to be the exact spot; repeat the same words "this feeling" (refering to the feeling you would like to remove), and keep your mind tuned to that feeling;

3. The third point is directly under either eye, right on the bone beneath the eye, tap here seven times, and repeat the same words;

4. The fourth point is directly under your nose, tap here seven times and repeat the words;

5. The fifth point is the indent just above your chin; tap here seven times and repeat the words;

6. The sixth point is the bone at the beginning of your collar bone just beside the soft part of your neck; the soft part of your neck is the part right between the start of both collar bones; use your fist to tap this sixth point seven times, while repeating the words;

7. The seventh point is the lower corner of your thumb nail; the lower corner nearest to your other hand;

8. The eighth point is the lower corner of your fingernail of your first finger of the same hand; the corner nearest your other hand;

9. The ninth point is the same spot on your middle finger;

10. Miss your ring finger;

11. The eleventh point is that same spot on your little finger;

It doesn't matter which hand you choose to tap and which hand you choose to tap with. You don't even have to tap exactly on the nerve ending, because the surrounding tissue is also joined to the nerve ending. At this point you may or may not have noticed a difference in the intensity of the negative feeling; is it more or less intense? Is it in the same spot? Try to get the feeling back. If you can't this shows that the blocked energy has dissipated, and the exercise was a success. How would you rate the feeling from 1 to 10 now? It's most likely that the feeling is still there but less intense. So the next step is to do an exercise to activate your whole brain to make sure we properly tap the whole feeling.

First you need to find the Gamut point, this is on the back of your hand right between the bones, tendons, and muscles of your little finger and your ring finger.

1. Tap here with the first and second finger of your other hand;

2. close your eyes;

3. open your eyes;

4. keep your head still and look hard down to the right;

5. keep your head still and look hard down to the left;

6. circle your eyes clockwise;

7. circle your eyes anti-clockwise;

8. hum a few bars of any song;

9. count out loud, as quick as you can, from 1 to 5;

10. hum the song again.

This exercise will activate your whole brain assisting the tapping process to completely remove the negative feeling from your nervous system. After you have done this exercise turn your mind once more to the feeling; where is it now on the scale of 1 to 10? Sometimes the feeling will disappear completely at this point, however, most of the time it will intensify, as the whole brain has become properly tuned into it. Now that we have fully accessed the feeling, however, we will endeavour to remove it from your nervous system completely. The next step is to repeat the initial process of tapping the various nerve endings:

1. eyebrow-nose juncture;

2. side of eye;

3. under eye;

4. under nose;

5. indent above chin;

6. collar bone;

7. thumb;

8. first finger;

9. middle finger;

10. little finger.

Remember to repeat the words "this feeling" in reference to the feeling to be removed; keep your mind tuned into that feeling.

Now, if the exercise we did to activate your whole brain was performed properly, and each of the nerve endings was tapped correctly, the feeling should either be gone or less intense; if not, don't fret, simply repeat the tapping process again. The change may only be minor thus far. How would you rate the feeling now? Where is the feeling now? Is the feeling as emotionally sensitive as it was before? It is more likely than not that the feeling remains, at least to some extent; so repeat the process until you feel you understand these exercises properly.
